Pokemon Go Club
During my first year at UIndy, I developed a strong interest in playing Pokemon Go. I was so captivated by it that I decided to start a club to support the niche community of Pokemon Go fans at UIndy. It was quite an ambitious undertaking since I had randomly decided to create a club during my first year of college. As the president of the club, my plan was to organize weekly meetups and eventually plan a huge trip at the end of the year.

Vegas Baby
Yes, we went to Vegas! Initially, I had planned weekly events for the club to play Pokemon Go on campus. However, I realized that it could get monotonous. When I heard about the special Pokemon Go event happening on campus, I knew that we had to attend. Despite having only $500 in our club account, I was able to raise over $2000 for the trip to Vegas!

Funding and Flights
Funding for our project was challenging. Our club had only 15 members, and as we all know, college students don't have a lot of money. So, we had to find alternative ways to raise funds. Instead of selling things, I leveraged my networking skills to approach the school management. We had to attend numerous meetings with different departments, but it was all worth it in the end. We were able to raise $2000, which was enough to cover the flights and accommodation of 9 people for a weekend trip to Las Vegas.

Leveraging a Niche
I excel at building communities by bringing together people with shared interests. It fills me with pride to see how this club has evolved over time. Every passing month, our community is growing larger and stronger.

Club Today
Today, I am not as actively involved with the club, and I no longer play Pokemon Go. However, I still contribute as a member of the management team by coordinating events.
